Yesterday, when I came home from school, he proudly announced that his story had won! This means that his story was the best out of 20 other students' stories. It also means that his piece will go on to the county-wide competition.

Little Author
Nick is very proud of himself. One of his stories got selected for the annual Young Author competition at the elementary school. He was happy to be one of the two authors selected from his class of 20. He told Mom that his story was about our trip to Washington DC, and that he thinks he was selected because he used big words like twinkling and spectacular.
