Liz Inc.

Liz Waid Photography

Sounds official, doesn't it?

That's why I named my photo-sharing website Liz Waid Photography.

It seems like the purpose of Shutterfly's new "Share" websites is to make you feel like a professional. To make you upload your photos and brag about how good the site makes them look. To reel you in so that you spend hours customizing your photo website, even though you've already got the exact same photos posted on Facebook, Twitter, your blog, MySpace, and flickr. Hey, you rationalize, this Shutterfly website can do tons of stuff those other sites can't. Like what? your conscience says. Well...you see...it can...your photos...there's this thing...it...oh, all right! You win. But just you wait. In another month, Shutterfly will come out with some cool new product that will totally blow your pants off, and then I'll be glad I made this Share website. You just wait and see. I'll show you.

Yeah, sure, your conscience says smugly. You keep telling yourself that.

I'm not sure what the purpose of that strange second person-perspective dialogue was. Maybe it was the critical monster inside me pointing out that every single website these days has a "Join," "Comment," and "Share" button.

Or maybe it was me starting this post with one objective, and suddenly letting my inner writer spin out of control to create a dialogue demonstrating the modern day struggle between wants and needs.

Maybe a little of both.

But back on track. I started this post with the idea of telling you that I did get a Shutterfly Share website, where I am currently posting my beach photos, and hopefully a lot of my flower photos.

Speaking of beach photos, I have now discovered another favorite subject for my photos: the sunrise. I took two 6 am strolls down the beach and took some out-of-this-world photos. There're silhouettes, suns, horizons, seashells, waves washing up in the early morning light. They are spectacular. Fabulous. Lovely. Charming. Bedazzling.

Needless to say, I love the photos I took at the beach.

Currently, I only have the photos from the first day posted on the Shutterfly site. I'll be posting the sunrise photos as soon as I get back from Big Canoe. http://lizwaidphotography.shutterfly.com/
