The First Week of School

The first week of school is over with, and I think that 8th grade is the best year of middle school. 6th grade is just so...weird, and in 7th grade, I had really bad teachers. I've got good teachers this year. I especially like Ms. Burgess, my math teacher, and Ms. Steele, my Language Arts teacher.

Nick's in 2nd grade, and he won't tell me how he likes his teacher, but he's got two best friends in his class, so I think he likes 2nd grade so far.

And CJ's in middle school now, which is pretty weird. I know a bunch of 6th graders because they're CJ's friends. I've been pestering them to join band...and it's working. CJ signed up for band. He says he wants to play trombone.

The annual Bus Stop Photo has taken place since I was in kindergarten, with many kids coming and going. This year, it was only three kids: Nick, and two girls who live across the street. But as the Bus Stop Gang decreases, the Walking Gang increases.

Here's part of the Walking Gang. I'm on the right. The rest of the walking gang, including CJ, was at another house, playing Wii and Nerf tag. Typical boys. CJ could sleep in later, now that he's at the later starting school, but he chooses to wake up early and run around in his buddies' front yards. I'd choose sleep over anything, just about.

And here's Nick, waiting for the bus.

"Wait! Where's everyone going?"

And here's Lucas, the sweetie who lives across the street.
