Snow Diaries- Day 3

(I meant to post this yesterday, but the internet was down)

It's Day 3 of being snowed in, and here's an update.

Dad has been working from home, and I don't think he likes it. He set up his "office" in the kitchen, and he's constantly on conference calls. He has to act pleasant to people he associates with boring work when he could be out in the snow, playing.

Mom says she's going snow crazy. She wants to eat out tonight, but I'm not sure how safe the roads are. We walked around the neighborhood just now and it was really icy.

This is the first time that CJ's been at our home for more than 45 minutes in 3 days. The past two days, he's come home for dinner, then gone off to his friend's house to spend the night. He spends the day at their house, too. He's home right now because we're going to attempt to go out to eat, and Mom invited the three boys over to sleep in our basement. Yay.

Mom invited the boys over because 1) she felt guilty that CJ's been at their house, and 2) Nick doesn't have anything to do without CJ. So Mom's hoping that Nick will hang out with the big boys and that they won't mind having him around. I don't know if it'll work, but at least it'll give me some time to write.

It seems like everytime I sit down at the computer to write, Nick comes up wanting to play a game. And I can't say no, cause he'll just slump back on the couch and watch TV. So I've played lots of Wii with him these past three days. I have also got some writing done- 4,137 words since Sunday. Oh, and remember this? Well, I'm doing it again. Except this time, the theme of the Letterbox Trading Card swap is King Henry VIII. It suits me. I've been busy making my LTCs during these snow days. I'm contributing two LTCs this time: The King's Signature and Princess Elizabeth's Signature. I love Elizabeth I's signature because it's really loopy and fancy. Here's a photo of what the completed LTC looks like:

There are only nine people signed up for the swap, so I don't have to make as many cards as I did last time. Today, I'm going to work on Henry VIII's signature. It'll be interesting to see what the other people in the swap come up with for their LTCs.

School is cancelled tomorrow, too! That'll be our fourth day of no school! The kids of the neighborhood are celebrating, of course, although the adults aren't too happy.
